Jew, Andie

Art

Mrs. Jew has been teaching at Austin Jewish Academy since 2019.

Originally from Chicago, Mrs. Jew grew up involved in many art programs and took private lessons with a local artist. She spent nine years as an elementary school library assistant and substitute teacher for the Round Rock Independent School District. She then joined the Abrakadoodle Art Program.

Mrs. Jew went through training and classes for early childhood education and after-school programming. In 2006, she became the primary and elementary art teacher for ACE Academy as well as the art teacher for the Hebrew school and Sunday school at Congregation Beth Israel.

Mrs. Jew and her husband have four grown children (including two AJA alumni) and two grandchildren, all in Austin. One of her favorite things about working at AJA is that it allows her to add Jewish values to art. Mrs. Jew studied at Minneapolis School of Art and Design and McNay Art Institute in San Antonio.
