General Curriculum

At AJA, we embrace the whole child. We believe that social and emotional well-being is critical. Children learn best when they feel safe andcomfortable and we strive to provide that. We use brain-based research to guide our teaching and discipline practices.

We practice conscious discipline, an approach to support children by reflecting our own adult behavior in the school to get the outcome that you desire from the child’s behavior.

We believe in a growth mindset and reflect that to the children. Growth mindset sees intelligence and skill as something that is learned and practiced and cultivated, not as innate traits.

We have a diverse learners lab to support both children that need additional challenge as well as children that need additional support. Every child is unique and we get to know them first to learn how best to support them.

For our bilingual kids, we have moved to Hebrew/English education that helps them retain their original Hebrew while they learn English.

We believe strongly in the arts and physical education, and offer art, music, and PE to our elementary kids and options including arts and sports to our middle school kids.
