Athletics
AJA offers a variety of athletic opportunities for students grades 4-8 and is proud to boast many championship-winning teams! We compete in the Austin Inter-Parochial League (AIPL) and regularly play against Austin Waldorf School, Paragon Prep, St. Andrew’s Episcopal, St. Francis School, St. Stephen’s Episcopal, Trinity, Episcopal, and Magellan International as well as other private schools.
Participating in AJA Athletics is great way for students to develop camaraderie with other classmates, improve teamwork, and build skills and a sense of understanding in a wide range of sports. Students are encouraged to be involved in as many sports as they like. Practices are set up so they can participate in multiple sports if the seasons overlap. We currently offer the following sports:
- AJA Lions Boys Football: August-November. AJA Football team Practices twice a week after school. Games are on weekdays.
- AJA Lions Girls Volleyball: August-October. We have morning practices in the JCC gym before school and game days vary throughout the week.
- AJA Lions Boys and Girls Basketball: November-February. Lions Basketball teams hold morning practices and after-school practices in the JCC gym. Game days vary throughout the week.
- AJA Lions Co-ed Soccer: March-May. AJA Soccer Team Practices are twice a week after school and game days vary throughout the week.
- AJA Lions Boys and Girls Tennis: March-April. AJA Tennis Team practices will be once or twice a week after school with a District Tournament in April.
- AJA Lions Boys and Girls Golf: March-May. AJA Golf Team practices will be once a week after school with a District Tournament in May.
- AJA Lions Boys and Girls Track: March-May. AJA Track Team Practices are once or twice a week after school. Lions Track team participates in 3 or 4 Track meets throughout the season ending with a District Championship meet in May.

- JV-Volleyball: District Champions and AIPL Tournament Champions
- JV-Football: District Champions and AIPL Tournament Runner-up (2nd Place)

- Track – District Results:
- Sidney (Boys 7/8 Division) 12th in the long jump, 15th in the 400m dash, 20th in the 100m dash, 23rd in the 200m dash.
- Addie (Girls 5/6 Division) – 2nd place in the softball throw, 11th in the broad jump, 17th in the long jump. Her stellar performance earned AJA 6th place overall in the Girls 5/6 category—an amazing solo effort!
- Beni, Gael, Jack, and Ari (Boys 5/6 Division) – 4th place in the 4x100m relay. AJA Boys 5/6 earned AJA 4th place overall!
- Beni – 10th in the softball throw, 12th in the long jump, 4th-place in both the 400m dash and the 1600m run.
- Ari placed 7th in both the long jump and broad jump, 6th in the 50m dash, and 5th in the 100m dash.
- Jack came in 7th in the broad jump, 8th in the long jump, 10th in the 100m dash, and 9th in the 50m dash.
- Owen R. placed 14th in the broad jump and 18th in the long jump.

- Gabey – 1st place Boys 5/6 Intermediate Bracket
- Nathan/Gabriel – 3rd place Boys 5/6 Beginner Doubles
