AJA Welcomes 150 Middle Schoolers at Winter Dance

Snowflake Soirée

Austin Jewish Academy recently hosted its annual middle school dance, the Snowflake Soirée, welcoming more than 150 students from across the Austin area for an evening of music, dancing, and community. Students from AJA were joined by peers from Rawson Saunders, Girls School of Austin, Headwaters, and other local schools, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere from start to finish.

The dance floor stayed full all night as students danced, laughed, and enjoyed spending time with both friends and new acquaintances. Highlights of the evening included a hot cocoa bar, a candy bar, and a popular photo booth, but for many students, the best part was simply being together and dancing with their friends.

Before the main event, AJA families hosted a special pre-party just for AJA students. This thoughtful gathering gave students a chance to connect and ease into the evening together, helping everyone feel comfortable, welcomed, and ready to enjoy the night.

Parents shared enthusiastic feedback afterward, noting how happy and energized their children were following the event. One family summed it up perfectly: their child danced the entire night with friends and left completely exhausted – in the best way possible.

The Snowflake Soirée was a wonderful example of AJA’s commitment to building a safe, joyful, and inclusive community where middle school students can connect, belong, and thrive.
