This morning our first graders gathered with family and friends in the MPR to celebrate a significant milestone in their Jewish learning—the Shema Chagiga. This special ceremony marked their
progress in Hebrew and Jewish Studies and their ability to recite and sing the Shema and V’ahavta prayers with confidence and joy.
During the event, students proudly presented their learning and reflections. A highlight of the ceremony was the hands-on activity, where each child decorated a pillowcase printed with the words of the Shema. This meaningful keepsake will serve as a nightly reminder of their connection to this cherished prayer.
Students also got to make their own mezuzah cookies the daybefore, adding a fun and delicious touch to the celebration.
We are so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication, and we thank all the families who
joined us to celebrate this important milestone.
